Days 17 - 20: London, England


London was the last stop for St. Hilda´s Music and Hockey tour 2012. The students were given time to go sightseeing and visit some of the cities famous landmarks.

They were also taken on a guided tour of the Natural History Museum, to the theatre to see "We Will Rock You" and to see a presentation by Piers and Hilary du Pré about the renowned cellist Jacqueline du Pré.

End of  St. Hilda´s Music and Hockey Tour 2012

St. Hilda´s Music and Hockey Tour 2012 was a great success. We would like to thank everyone who made the tour possible and all those who helped us along the way, from coach drivers to staff members atthe schools we visited. We would also like to say a very special thank you to all our hosts for always welcoming us so warmly.

We would also like to congratulate all St. Hilda´s muscians, singers, dancers and hockey players for putting on outstanding performances throughout the tour and playing amazingly, it was a great tour and we look forward to the next one.

Day 16: Bath, England

The tour´s next stop was Bath where students spent a sunny morning sightseeing.

The students then headed off to Kingswood School (http://www.kingswood.bath.sch.uk/senior-home/) for the last hockey match of the tour. It was an extremely cold day. So much so that the hockey macth had to be cut short because the pitch was freezing over. At the time the match was ended Kingswood´s hockey team was winning.

That evening there was a Vocal Concert at Kingswood School where Kingswood students performed several songs in small groups. St. Hilda´s choir sang two songs in this concert.

Kingswoog School is a boarding school so has an infirmary in which one of St. Hilda´s students, Luchi, spent the night as she was not feeling well. They treated her extremely well and she had a very good night, she said it felt just like being in a film!

The following morning the tour departed for their last stop, London.

Days 14 - 15: Cardiff, Wales


The tour continued in Cardiff where the morning was spent sightseing before heading to Caerleon School to rehearse for the evening concert and then performing a joint concert with Caerleon School.

After the concert the girls played a hockey match against Caerleon School. It was a very cold day and the macth was a diffucult one. St. Hilda´s started off losing the match but played very well and managed to turn the score around and win the macth.

Days 12 - 13: Cheadle Hulme, England


On the way to Cheadle Hulme the coach made a stop in Manchester where students visited the Museum of Science and Industry known as the MOSI. (http://www.mosi.org.uk/)

The students then made their way to Cheadle Hulme School (http://www.cheadlehulmeschool.co.uk/) where two seven a side hockey matches were played that afternoon. Both teams were very good and the matches difficult, eventually victory went to the home team.

After the match St. Hilda´s students went home with their billets. The following morning was spent sightseeing. One of the landmarks visited was Manchester United´s football stadium. Student´s then returned to the school to prepare for their music performance.
